Set a goal and move on it
So, I’m closing down one of my old sites but have decided to save the blog posts and repost them here mingled with new ones as well. There’s not that many so it should take too long to repost them. So here’s the first one originally posted in early 2015.
So what’s your goal this year? For this month, this week. Do you want to learn a new skill? Do you want to write a book? Start a business. There is no better time like the present to get started. So where do you start? If you’re like me, maybe you write everything down and get overwhelmed by the huge list of tasks and ideas you need to accomplish. Well here’s a few tips to smooth out the process.
1. Start small, choose the next small thing you need to do and do it, then move on to the next item on the list.
2. Break up large tasks into small ones. Sometimes we look at a huge item that is looming on our list and we freeze and immobilize ourselves. By break it down it makes it more manageable.
3. Don’t worry about it being perfect, this is probably my biggest hindrance I like everything to look right the first time. Just get it out there whether its a song, something you made your website etc. Get the first draft or project out there it will give you a sense of accomplishment and besides you can always go back and fix it later or make it better the next time.
So that’s my advise for this week; Start Small, Break up large tasks, it doesn’t have to be perfect, try it and get something started and get on your way to meeting that goal you set for this year.
Until next week
